The Analysis of the Textbook

This is a reading passage taken from Module 2 Book 4, which introduces different means of transport in Beijing. By learning the passage, students will have a general idea of transport in Beijing, master some key points in the text, and improve their listening, speaking and reading skills.

The Analysis of the Students

Students in Senior One have a limited vocabulary and an incomplete grammar system. So according to their characteristics, in reading comprehension,I design some simple questions of different levels to encourage them to have confidence and work harder. In vocabulary, I specially design 3 levels of questions based on NMET to improve their reading ability and help them to score more points in the exam.

 

Teaching Aims:

Knowledge and Ability Aims:

 

1. Develop students’ ability to understand the basic  knowledge of transport.

2. Develop students’ ability to grasp information and key points by listening and reading.

 

 

Process and Methods:

 

In teaching process, I will use task-based teaching and heuristic teaching methods to improve students’ ability.

 

Moral Aims:

 

1. Intrigue students with this lesson so as to improve their interest in English.

2. Raise students’ awareness of traffic regulations.

3. Help students consider what they can do to improve transport in Anshan to make them love their hometown.

Important Points:

Learn some means of transport in Beijing and master advantages and

disadvantages of them.

Help students to master the key points and improve vocabulary for NMET .

  Show some pictures of BRF

Step III:scanning

  1.Scan the text,and find out the means of  transport mentioned in the text.

Step : Listening & reading

  1.Match the words with their meanings 

2.Do some reading comprehension exercises in NMET.

Step V: competition

1.    Read the text carefully again and be ready for the competition.

2.    Answer some questions of 3 levels.

  Level A: Fill in the blanks

  Level B: key words and phrases.

  Level C:Put it into English

Step VI: Interview

  Talk about Traffic jams and try to find out the causes and solutions/measures.

Step VII:summary

  Summarize the causes and solutions, and

make preparations for the writing. 

Step VII: Homework

  Write a letter.

 

 

 

Enjoy a group of pictures and arouse students’ interest
